Elements are the basic building blocks of matter everything you touch breathe or see is made from elements.That makes them essential in chemistry and helpful in other sciences too,like biology, physics and earth science.
An element is a pure substance made of only one type of atom and it cannot be broken down into anything simpler by ordinary chemical methods.Each element has its own name symbol, and unique properties which come from the way its atoms are structured.Elements are the basic building blocks of all matter and everything around us is made by combining them in different ways.Examples include oxygen, carbon, gold and hydrogen.All known elements are organized on the Periodic Table, which groups them based on similarities in their atomic structure and behavior.
